After the Holidays
I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We actually had a very nice time with family who came down from Sacramento, California. We always enjoy spending time with our family on the Holidays.
Still waiting for husband to get out of the Military so we can finally call a place "home". I think it's gotten to the point where I really don't want to move anymore and neither do the kids. We all want to stay in one place. Hopefully, my husband will get a civilian position he can slide into soon.
Well, as for my jewelry making, I temporarily placed my Etsy shop on Vacation until January 15. I have been catching up on all the things I needed to catch up on. I've been busy making a lot of new jewelry. I plan on opening a new line of jewelry called: Recycled Jewelry (Jewelry with a second life)
A jewelry line for people who like the idea of giving old jewelry a second chance before it is chunked in the garbage. In other words, old, detash jewelry is taken apart, and then recycled by completely making a new jewelry piece out of the old piece. (For example: If I have a plastic oval off of a necklace, I take it apart and attach it to a flower charm that was off of a bracelet and then I attach any other loose charms etc. off of other pieces and create something new.)
***Note*****
All jewelry is given a good cleaning and All old earwires are thrown away in the trash and "NEW" (Never Used) ear wires replace the old ones. So no need to worry about using used ear wires. :)
Well, I will let you take a quick peek at a couple of my new creations that I haven't posted yet in my shop on Etsy. These items will be placed for sale after the 15th of this month. :) Hope you like them!

Happy Holidays
Family and I had a very nice Christmas. We had my in-laws come down from Sacramento and we had a great time. We enjoyed talking, enjoying the Holidays and just spending family time together.
We are almost beginning a New Year. 2009 has gone sooooooo fast!
As for the paper mache head, I still need to work on that. I guess the next step will be to sand down the rough edges. Attaching some ears will be quite interesting. I'm not really sure how that will turn out. Regardless of how it comes out, I will definitely post a picture and let you see how it turned out. We will either laugh together or cry together depending on how it turns out. :)

Paper Mache
Okay, this is my last ditch effort to make my own half torso mannequin. I hope this one turns out all right. :)

Interesting
I really enjoyed my short jog along the woods this morning. Actually, I was jogging in a Military Installation. Forest sorrounds many parts of the base so there is always alot of nature to see. I've seen cardinals, blue jays, snakes, alligators and a bear. Fortunately, I was far enough from the alligator and bear so I didn't become their snack. :) The bear and alligator run in happened sometime last May within a 10 minute time frame. Nature was definitely enjoying the weather and so was I.
Today, I think I saw a Bobcat cross in front of me at a distance. Too big for a house cat but perfect size for a Bobcat. Hmmmmm.......not really sure.
Anyway, I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving. We didn't travel anywhere this time. In fact, we live far away from all extended family, so our family spent a quiet Thanksgiving at home. It was very nice but quiet.
Today, it is gloomy, grey and a bit cold. Not exactly the type of weather I expected for Florida but it does get cold here in the winter.
What am I working on today? I will probably make some paper mache jewelry while I watch a movie. I think paper mache jewelry is cute, colorful and fun to wear but it just takes so much time to make it. :( Therefore, I don't make it too often. When I do make it, I make about 5 different items in one sitting and then I don't make anymore for a few weeks.
Well, I will close for now. Hope everyone enjoys their day!
